The ECCOSORB LS from Emerson & Cuming are flexible polyurethane foam materials that attenuate energy using a conductive carbon loading system at frequencies from 1 GHz to 26 GHz. These foams are not weatherproof but can be supplied with a special coating called CERSEAL to prevent moisture uptake for outdoor use. They can be easily cut with a knife, scissors, or die and held in a place with a Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) or attached with a liquid based contact cement. They are available in standard sheet sizes measuring 24" x 24" (61 x 61 cm) and in other sizes upon request.
ECCOSORB LS is used to absorb electromagnetic energy in a variety of applications. It can be used to line the interior of a cavity to lower its Q in RF amplifiers, oscillators, cabinets containing microwave devices, computer housings, or LNB&rsquos. It can also be used for the isolation of antennas by insertion loss. Reflectivity of an object (metal or otherwise) can also be reduced to a small degree by applying one or more layers of ECCOSORB LS to its surface.
