How to select an 90 Degree Hybrid Coupler
90 degree hybrids split the input signal in to two equal signals with a 90 degree phase differential. Hybrids typically have a lower insertion loss than resistive power dividers or combiners.
Frequency (MHz): This is the frequency at which the rf hybrid operates.
Average Power (W): The power level that the hybrid device can handle while maintaining consistent performance.
Insertion Loss (dB): The loss in the signal when the input signal is split into two is know as the insertion loss. The lower the insertion loss the better the performance of the hybrid.
Package Type: RF and microwave hybrids are available in a number of package types – Surface Mount, Modules with Connectors – SMA Hybrids, BNC Hybrids etc.
