Pole/Zero Introduces Compact Digitally Tunable Bandpass and Notch Filters from 1.5 to 24 GHz

Pole/Zero announced that they have released a new Integrated Microwave Filter (IMF) Series consisting of digitally tunable bandpass and tunable notch filters that feature accelerated tuning speeds packed in very small, lightweight QFN packages.

IMF frequency hopping filters are available in multiple frequency bands from 1.5 GHz to 24 GHz, with tune times of less than 100 ns via GPIO Tuning Control (0V OFF, +5V ON) of 16 discrete tunable steps. They have a phase noise of -145 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz offset, maximum input power handling capacity of +30 dBm along with an average insertion loss of 3.4 dB. With a minimum and typical IIP3 of +35 dBm and +40 dBm respectively, the filters have a selectivity of 20 dBc @ fc ± 10% (4% BW). The filters operate on +5 V DC input supply and consumes 20 μA of current.

Package sizes are as small as 4.1 x 4.1 x 1.5 mm QFN Packages for greater than 10 GHz bandpass filters, and 7 x 7 x 2 mm QFN packages for greater than 10 GHz notch filters and less than 10 GHz bandpass filters; all operating over -40C to +85C. The reduced Size, Weight, Power Consumption, and Cost (SWaP-C) of Pole/Zero’s IMFs make them suitable for applications on radar, electronic warfare, SATCOM-On-The-Move (SOTM), RF Front End, and commercial platforms.

IMF demo loaner, mounted on evaluations boards, are available from Pole/Zero at no cost.
