GPSdome Protects UAVs During a Flight Under Jamming Conditions

GPSdome Ltd. has announced that it has performed successful airborne tests of its Cyber device for protection against GPS jamming and spoofing. The tests were conducted jointly with Bluebird Aero Systems, which specializes in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).

They installed their GPSdome device on a Bluebird small UAV in order to test its GPS protection during a flight under jamming conditions. The successful tests showed that the GPSdome-protectd UAV continued functioning under jamming attacks and retained its GPS reception, while the unprotected UAV lost the GPS signal.

The GPSdome device is a perfect solution for small UAV and other unmanned vehicles, which require a miniaturized solution that do not reduce their range of action. The amazing minimal SWaP (size, weight and power) of this device makes it ideal for autonomous vehicles as well as for personal gear.

US department of Homeland Security (DHS) operates autonomous drones patrolling over the USA-Mexico border, which suffer jamming attacks by border smugglers, mainly the drug cartels. The DHS gives high priority for lightweight anti-jamming solutions for this challenge, and GPSdome is the only commercially available solution that weighs less than 150 gram and consumes power less than 0.75 Watt.
