Industry Veteran James Sims Appointed as Airgain’s Chief Executive Officer

Advanced antenna technologies leader, Airgain, has announced the appointment of James K. Sims as its new Chief Executive Officer. Sims first became involved with Airgain over a decade ago when his vision was to build a specialized wireless company by solving complex RF engineering problems across the technology ecosystem.

When Sims took over as Airgain’s interim CEO last May, he embarked on several course granularity initiatives that prioritized the company’s operational efficiencies while investing in R&D, realigning the sales and marketing efforts, and focusing on sustainable profitability. He believes these initiatives helped to secure the company’s long-term competitive position and above-average industry growth while expanding innovative and differentiated antenna solutions.

James K. Sims has served as Airgain’s Chairman of the Board since November 2003 and interim Chief Executive Officer since May 2018. Prior to joining Airgain, he served as the founding partner of Silicon Valley Data Capital in 2017, and founded Silicon Valley Data Science in 2012, where he is currently the Chairman. He also founded Concurrent Computer Corporation and in 1991, founded Cambridge Technology Partners, where he held the position of CEO. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of various private companies including EPAY Systems, Inc., Connections 365, Inc. and Bright Volt, Inc., and was previously on the Board of Directors of several public companies, including Cambridge Technology Partners, RSA Security, Inc., and Electronic Data Systems Corporation. He has also served as the Chairman and CEO of GEN3 Partners.
