Leading test and measurement solutions manufacturer, ETS-Lindgren, has integrated the R&S CMX500 radio communication tester from Rohde & Schwarz (R&S), with its CTIA-compliant EMQuest Antenna Measurement software, to provide comprehensive 5G OTA test capabilities. This includes solutions for all 5G New Radio (NR) modes including FR1 (sub-6 GHz), non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA), for both Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) and Time Division Duplex (TDD).
Rohde & Schwarz’s R&S CMX500 works with the R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester for cellular (LTE, C-IoT, 3G, 2G) and connectivity (WLAN, Bluetooth) testing to provide complete coverage of all major commercial wireless technologies. This integration is ideal for ETS-Lindgren's customer requirements for current and future turnkey 5G test solutions.
5G-NR, according to Jari Vikstedt, Director Wireless Solutions with ETS-Lindgren, is one of many radio access technologies that needs to be tested on the next generation of wireless devices. And after extensive testing in its wireless labs, ETS believes that the R&S CMX500 can provide customers with a cost-effective way to enable 5G testing. For customers with existing ETS-Lindgren Wireless OTA chambers, it's a convenient upgrade to expand their test capabilities to support 5G NR testing.
