The PLPS9 from Thales Group is an IoT Wireless Module that provides global LTE Cat 16 coverage with 3G/2G fallback connectivity and is integrated with GNSS that enables quick and accurate positioning capabilities. It has been designed for industrial solutions that require ultra-high-speed global connectivity and supreme reliability. The PLPS9 is built on Thales's automotive platform using LTE CAT 16 Advanced Pro technology and delivers a downlink speed of up to 1 Gbit/s and an uplink speed of 150 Mbit/s. The module supports carrier aggregation and a 4 x 4 MIMO antenna interface that provides voice support for LTE via VoLTE or CSFB (Circuit Switched Fallback). It can be controlled via Ethernet, Wi-Fi (802.11p), BT via PCIe 2.1 (5 Gbps single lane), USB 3.0, SIM/MIM, UART, I2C, I2S, USIM, PCM, and GPIO interfaces.
The module is designed with a double system partition architecture that ensures fail-safe protection during firmware updates and prevents the execution of malicious firmware. It is available in an LGA package that measures 48 x 36 x 3 mm and is ideal for industrial routers, gateways, digital signage, industrial computers, and tablet applications.
