D4000 Image

The D4000 from thinkRF is an RF Downconverter/Tuner that downconverts an Input RF signal from 24 - 40 GHz to an output IF signal with a frequency of 1.536 GHz. It has a 500 MHz real-time bandwidth, and a 100 kHz tuning resolution, making it ideal for applications such as interference hunting, electronic warfare, signals intelligence, spectrum monitoring, RF drive test, transmission test, and customer premise equipment test. The platform is built on patented and highly innovative software-defined radio (SDR) technologies to extend the frequency range of existing RF signal analyzers from any vendor to meet new wireless requirements.

The Downconverter/Tuner has built-in preselect filtering that eliminates out-of-band signals and enables spurious mitigation. The calibrated, single IF output, makes the integration of the D4000 with spectrum analyzers or receivers extremely easy. The built-in local oscillators remove the need for external synthesizers. The open platform also works seamlessly with current spectrum analysis solutions through standard SCPI control over Ethernet, allowing the user to control the unit through the spectrum analyzer or PC. The D4000 has 10 MHz input and output clock references which allows multi-unit synchronization capability to run multiple units in parallel to coordinate a compound signal monitoring system, particularly for wideband signal monitoring and capture.

RF frequency converters are one of the most economical and cost-effective methods for increasing the frequency performance of RF signal analysis systems. In the new world of 5G networks, a RF frequency converter can reduce time to market and costs for mobile operators, system integrators, telecom carriers and baseband researchers.

The D4000 RF Downconverter features a compact design that makes it portable, versatile, and easy to use for 5G analysis in any deployment scenario without adding significant size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements. It measures 7.6 x 7.6 x 1.6 inches (19.3 cm x 19.3 cm x 4.1cm) and weighs less than 4lbs (1.7 kg).
