The SKY5-8255-11 from Skyworks is a Front-End Module that supports multi-band 4G/5G and LTE/NR applications. This FEM incorporates PA blocks, input and output matching, a MIPI standard digital control block, single-ended filters, an antenna port with band select switches, and a low noise amplifier. The integrated LNA with MIPI control features up to seven gain modes and independent gain and bias control. Utilizing an enhanced architecture, it covers multiple bands and meets the spectral linearity requirements of CP-OFDM and DFTS-OFDM modulations with up to 100 MHz bandwidth and up to 273 resource block allocations.

The output power of this module can be controlled by varying the input power (15 dBm maximum) and adjusting VCC to maximize efficiency, whereas, extremely low leakage current maximizes handset standby time. The device supports system connectivity for MIMO-UL and SISO-UL with a single-feed or diplexed/separate-feed for n77/n79 bands. This front-end module is available in a 42-pad configuration (includes 20-pad ground array) that measures 4.5 x 5.5 x 0.7 mm and is ideal for 5G-NR and smartphone applications.
