The ISYS245 from Emblation Microwave is an Externally-controlled Microwave Generator and Amplifier that is capable of generating a variable output power of over 100 W at 2.45 GHz. The output power can be varied in 5W increments from 0-100W using pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques with power stability maintained within 5% of the set value.
The ISYS245 has an innovative reflected power measurement mode of operation. It can also reduce the reflection measurement error significantly, where the input match of the device under test is non-optimal.
The Microwave Generator can also be used as a standard amplifier when used in external source mode, where it provides a small signal gain of 55 to 58 dB. Using this mode of operation, the amplifier operates without any internal power regulation, allowing the user to have full control of the output power levels. The system has an amplifier efficiency of over 62% resulting in a low channel temperature rise and also significantly reduced thermal loss requiring reduced thermal management. It has a switching time of 10 microseconds.
This system is ideal for test & measurement, university research, antenna measurements, wireless communication research, and manufacturing applications. The cooling system employed is very compact with superior thermal capacity per unit volume allowing the overall system to be significantly smaller and lighter with an optimized air-flow management system.
The external communication for this system is done via a simple parallel data communication interface. It also has full control and data logging capability for connecting to a PC via an optional USB interface module. The ISYS245 has been designed with an easy to use interface with the capability of being operated as a standalone system or externally controlled via PC and/or microwave signal generator. It measures 300 x 85 x 275mm.
