The 500S1G2z5A from AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation is a Solid-State Amplifier that operates from 1 to 2.5 GHz. This self-contained, air-cooled, broadband amplifier when used with an RF sweep generator, provides a CW output power of 500 watts with a gain of over 57 dB. It is designed for applications where instantaneous bandwidth, high gain, and linearity are required.

The amplifier features a front panel gain control which permits the operator to conveniently set the desired output level and an internal automatic level control (ALC) with local or remote control of the ALC threshold.

The device is equipped with a Digital Control Panel (DCP) which provides both local and remote control of the amplifier. The DCP uses a color LCD touch screen display to indicate the operating status and fault conditions if an over-temperature or power supply fault has occurred. The unit can be returned to operate when the condition has been cleared.

The 500S1G2z5A is available in a contemporary cabinet for benchtop use or without cabinet for rack mounting that measures 19.8 x 8.1 x 29.5 inches with cabinet (19 x 7.0 x 29.5 inches without cabinet) with an N-type female input and 7/16 female output connector. All amplifier control functions and status indications are available remotely in GPIB/IEEE-488 format, RS-232 hardware and fiber optic, USB, and Ethernet.
