The CMPA601C025D from Cree RF is a GaN HEMT-based power amplifier that operates from 6 GHz to 12 GHz. It provides a small signal gain of up to 43 dB, power gain of up to 30 dB and output power of up to 79 Watts. The amplifier offers greater power density and wider bandwidths compared to Si, GaAs, and GaN-on-Si transistors, including higher breakdown voltage, higher saturated electron drift velocity and higher thermal conductivity. The amplifier requires a 28 V supply to operate and is available in die form. It can be used in jamming amplifiers, test equipment amplifiers, broadband amplifiers and radar amplifiers.
