The NuPowerXtender 12B04A-01 from NuWaves is a bi-directional amplifier that operates from 1 to 1.5 GHz. This L-Band amplifier provides 16 watts of output power in transmit mode and the integrated low-noise amplifier provides more than 13 dB of gain in receive mode. This compact and lightweight bi-directional amplifier is ideal for extending the communication range of half duplex L-band transceivers with constant-envelope or near-constant-envelope waveforms.

This amplifier has been developed using gallium nitride (GaN) technology, it offers greater than 30% power efficiency at most frequencies and its compact size makes it ideal for integration into space-constrained platforms. It is ideal for broadband RF telemetry and communication systems that require reliability and minimal size, weight, and power consumption (SWaP).
