The NW-BA-12B04A-D27 from NuWaves is an L & S-Band Bidirectional Amplifier that operates from 1 to 2.5 GHz. This amplifier is ideal for extending the communication range of half-duplex S-band transceivers that are running constant-envelope or near-constant-envelope waveforms. On the Tx side, it provides a saturated output power of 20 W with a gain of over 15 dB and on the Rx side it provides a gain of 14 dB with a noise figure of 3.5 dB. The amplifier requires a DC supply of 28 V and consumes 2.5 A of current.

The NW-BA-12B04A-D27 is based on GaN technology and provides 30% power efficiency in a small package making it ideal for integration into space-constrained platforms. It is available in a module that measures 3 x 2 x 1.16 mm with SMA Female connectors. The amplifier has over-voltage and reverse-voltage protection circuitry and is ideal for UAS-group 2 & 3, UGV, RF communication systems, and software-defined radio applications.
