The Storm-Test Cable Assemblies from Teledyne Storm Microwave are phase stable cable assemblies for Vector Network Analyzers and other interconnect testing requirements up to 50 GHz.

The internally ruggedized construction of this assembly with custom cable bend protection behind the connector delivers a longer life and excellent RF stability. It has internal armouring that makes it crush and torque resistant. The cables have a braided FEP jacket provides natural abrasion resistance preventing fraying of the outer jacket.

The cable has a nominal diameter of 5.08 mm with a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm. It has a phase stability vs flex of ±6 and an amplitude stability vs flex of 0.021 dB (at maximum frequency). The Storm-Test 50 GHz has an attenuation of 1.384 dB/foot and a VSWR of 1.35:1. It is available with a minimum assembly length of 12 inches and 2.4/2.9 mm Straight Plug (SP), Straight Jack (SJ) or Ruggedized Test Port Connector (NMD).

The cable bend protection solution optimizes product life while delivering mechanical robustness. They extend the test lead’s useful life while delivering phase stability, critical in precision manufacturing environments where measurement accuracy must be maintained with repeated use over months and years.

The assembly has been specifically designed for demanding applications in test, radar, military, and aerospace, and offers an operating temperature range of -55 to +125°C.
