MAIA-100258 Image

The MAIA-100258 from Spectrum Control is a Front-End Quad Transmit-Receive Module that operates in the X-Band from 9 to 10 GHz. It is suitable for use in AESA RADAR applications. On the Tx side, it delivers a saturated output power of 10 W per channel of RF power for pulsed radar and intermittent CW applications. On the Rx side, it provides a gain of 25 dB with a noise figure of 3.6 dB. This module incorporates the latest GaN technology and allows the AESA array to be controlled pulse-by-pulse using direction cosines or scan patterns that can be pre-loaded with up to 512 steps. It has a power-efficient design that requires a single DC supply of 33 V and consumes less than 2 A of current.

The MAIA-100258 offers built-in fault-detection and protection circuits and incorporates extensive self-test and status monitoring capabilities that enable real-time data. It also provides the capability of accepting user calibration offsets to compensate for array-edge effects and side-lobe reduction windowing functions. This module reduces array-level test requirements during series array production and allows modules to be freely replaced within an array without affecting the beam pattern when in service. It is available in a through-hole package that measures 184.73 × 59.50 mm with SMPM-male connectors and is ideal for X-band AESA radar and directional datalink system applications.
