The ALN-9850 from Alien Technology is a UHF RFID that operates from 860 to 960 MHz. It has an NVRAM memory of 512 bits, 128 user bits, and supports up to 128 EPC bits. The RFID tag provides performance characteristics and an angular sensitivity pattern that enables 360°tag access. It supports a 48-bit unique TID for authentication and serialization applications and a 32-bit password protected read and write block to prevent unauthorized viewing and modification of the tag's data. The RFID tag offers bit error correction, improved read/write sensitivity, robust memory retention, and 200,000 write cycles.
The ALN-9850 is based on the Alien Higgs-EC IC and can be used in applications where the tag is laid flat and the reader is "looking" at the edge of the tag. It is available in dry and wet inlay package with an antenna interface and is ideal for airline baggage tracking, aviation supply chain, inventory, and logistics applications.
