The MM3100 from Menlo Micro is a 6 Channel SPST Digital-Micro-Mechanical Switch that operates from DC to 3 GHz. This switch has been developed using a new Digital-Micro-Switch (DMS) fabrication process. Driven by the extreme operating conditions required by General Electric's industrial businesses, the GE Global Research team was led to look at the micro-mechanical switch from an entirely different perspective. This different approach led to a deep understanding of failure modes, and in turn, the development of a unique set of patented metal alloys and processing techniques that enable reliable operation without sacrificing performance.

This innovative DMS technology enables robust and highly reliable switches capable of handling up to 25 watts of CW power and up to 200 watts of pulsed power. The switch provides ultra low on-state insertion loss and high off-state isolation from DC to 3 GHz. It has a fast switching time of less than 10 us. The device is available in a 6 x 6 x 1.3 mm LGA package and is ideal for power amplifier impedance matching, electronically steerable antennas, phase shifter, tunable resonators and filters.
