The MM5800 from Menlo Micro is an RF Switching Platform that operates from DC to 70 GHz. It is designed to provide reliable switching performance for the next generation of RF and optical infrastructure, including silicon photonics. This platform integrates an SPDT MEMS switch based on Menlo Micro’s Ideal Switch technology, which offers higher linearity than solid-state technologies while delivering enhanced switching performance compared to traditional electromechanical relays.
The MM5800 has an insertion loss of 0.5 dB, provides 30 dB isolation, and an input IP3 of 95 dBm. It can handle up to 4 W of CW input power and 40 W of pulsed input power. This high-speed switch also includes an RF gate pin to control 2x switch channels, thereby supporting flexible system-level routing architectures. It is available in a compact WLCSP package measuring 2.7 x 2.2 mm, enabling dense integration and reducing board-level parasitics. This platform is ideal for PCIe Gen7 and 224G SerDes infrastructures, mmWave, aerospace and defense, AI accelerators, and quantum-compute applications.
