The RS9116N-DBT0-BRS is a Dual-band 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Dual-mode Bluetooth 5 and 802.15.4 (capable of running Thread or ZigBee) SoC for smart home devices such as smart locks, security cameras, home appliances, alarm systems and doorbells. The SoC integrates dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, and 802.15.4 with ARM Cortex M4 MCU and advanced security hardware. It contains full protocol stacks for Wi-Fi, BT, BLE, ZigBee and Thread, and includes automated mesh formation and reconfiguration capability to provide robust, whole-home coverage.
The module has a unique wireless wake-up receiver that remains on at a few microamps of current and be ready to wake up the rest of the device only when required, triggered by specific incoming wireless signals. It consumes less than 113 uA for maintaining cloud connection over Wi-Fi and can provide four years of battery life when used with a battery operated smart device. The SoC has the ability to stream data at up to 100 Mbps combined with its compatibility with all generations of Wi-Fi – up to Wi-Fi 6. It is available in a small 8.8 x 8 mm BGA package and is ideal for home automation, wearables, IoT and healthcare applications.
