What are Waveguide Rotary Joints?

A waveguide rotary joint is type of rotary joint used to connect two different waveguide interfaces or a waveguide interface with a coaxial interface. Like regular rotary joints, these joints can be rotated while still passing high frequency signals with minimal losses. In waveguide rotary joints the two connection interfaces are available in a number of geometric configurations - F Type, U Type, L Type and I Type. The letter denotes the geometrical structure of the joint. See the the image below.
