Maxim Integrated has created the MAX14827, an IO-Link Device Transceiver, to meet the increasing connectivity demands of Industrial IoT or Industry 4.0. This IC integrates the high voltage functions typically found in sensors, including two LDOs and two 24 volt line drivers. These ultra-low power drivers also have active reverse polarity protection, ruggedizing them for harsh electrical conditions. The MAX14827 can be controlled via a SPI interface or pin-control and can also be configured for higher regulator load capability with external transistors. With glitch filters, hot plug supply protection up to 36 volts, reverse polarity protection on all I/Os, and a negative forty to positive 125 degree Celsius temperature range, these are designed specifically for industrial environments.
