Automotive Dead Reckoning (ADR) is a method used to calculate a vehicle’s position in challenging environments where the GNSS signal is not reliable. It combines GNSS positioning data with speed, direction and acceleration data collected by sensors in a vehicle. So for example, when going through a tunnel if the GNSS signal is lost, the Automotive Dead Reckoning solution uses motion sensors in the vehicle to estimate its position.
