LTE Cat-4 (LTE Category 4) is an LTE user equipment (UE) category that defines the performance and specifications – such as data rate, power, type of modulation, bandwidth, etc. – of LTE Cat 4 UE. LTE Cat-4 UEs support a downlink data rate of 150.8 Mbit/s and an uplink data rate of 51.0 Mbit/s with 2 layers of spatial multiplexing in downlink (DL). With just one additional antenna than LTE Cat 1 technology, LTE Cat 4 provides a higher data rate of about 10x more than the LTE Cat 1.
