OMMIC Introduces GaAs MMIC Core Chip with Phase Shifter, Attenuator and T/R Switch from 4.5 to 6.5 GHz

OMMIC introduced the CGY2175AUH/C1, a high-performance, integrated GaAs MMIC with a Phase Shifter, Attenuator and T/R Switch from 4.5 to 6.5 GHz.This 3-port GaAs MMIC Core Chip consists of a 6-bit phase shifter, a 6-bit attenuator and T/R switch. This C-band chip is manufactured using OMMIC’s 0.18 µm gate length PHEMT technology. Its on-chip series-to-parallel converter minimizes the number of bond pads and greatly simplifies the use of core chip functions. The MMIC has backside metallization and is fully protected with Silicon Nitride passivation.

The CGY2175AUH/C1 has an insertion loss of less than 12 dB and has S11 & S22 of less than 14 dB. It provides an attenuation range of 31.5 dB, and a phase shift range of 360°. The chip requires a supply voltage of ±5 V and consumes 0.1 W of power. It is available measures 3765 x 4465 µm with gold bond pads and is suitable for radar, telecommunication, and instrumentation applications.

This chip has been evaluated for space applications and is on the European Preferred Parts List of the European Space Agency (ESA).
