Zhong Chen, Director of RF Engineering at ETS-Lindgren, Elected as Vice President of the AMTA

Members of the Antenna Measurement Techniques Association (AMTA) have elected Zhong Chen, ETS-Lindgren’s Director of RF Engineering, as Vice President of its Board of Directors (BoD). Elected during the AMTA 2021 Symposium held from October 24-29 at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort in Daytona Beach, Florida, Mr Chen will assume his term as Vice President on January 1, 2022.

The new position follows Mr. Chen’s two years of service as the Secretary of the AMTA BoD in 2020-2021. C J Reddy with Altair was elected President of AMTA and will also assume his term on January 1, 2022. Mr Reddy served as Technical Coordinator of the AMTA BoD in 2020 - 2021. Mr Chen and Mr Reddy were elected to the AMTA BoD at the AMTA 2019 Symposium.

Zhong has played a big part in advancing antenna measurement technologies that benefit industry and will do a great job serving the AMTA BoD and membership.”

ETS-Lindgren enjoys a long affiliation with the AMTA organization, having hosted or co-hosted several annual symposia. The company has exhibited at the annual AMTA Symposium since the early 2000s, and several ETS-Lindgren employees have served as BoD members. In addition, ETS-Lindgren engineers regularly contribute to the technical program of the AMTA Symposium, including several research papers on varied topics documenting ETS-Lindgren’s expertise in wireless over-the-air (OTA), EMC, and RF/Microwave test and measurement system solutions.

Mr. Chen’s AMTA 2021 presentation, the “Intercomparisons of Site VSWR Measurement Methods using Mode Filtering, Time Domain and Spatial Sampling Techniques”, was from the paper of the same title co-authored with Stuart Gregson of Next Phase Measurements.
