Flann Microwave Offers Rotary Vane Attenuators for mmWave Applications up to 140 GHz

Flann Microwave, a market leader in waveguide/microwave antennas, precision waveguide components, and test and measurement products operating from Megahertz to Terahertz frequencies, has introduced the Flann 114 RVA, a commercial grade, direct reading, rotary vane attenuator for use in millimetre wave test sets. This attenuator features a calibrated dial that immediately shows the attenuation value.

A precision 10 turn, 75 mm diameter helical drum scale provides high resolution and discrimination of the drum scale over a 0 dB to 40 dB attenuation range. In addition, it provides reference-only measurements up to 60 dB. Phase variation over the attenuation range is negligible. Choking of the rotating joints is employed to minimise RF leakage whilst sound mechanical design ensures the instruments are free from backlash. By using high value attenuation markings on the scale, symmetrically positioned about the maximum attenuation position, the user is able to verify the attenuation characteristic alignment which gives the highest confidence in the accuracy of subsequent measurements.

Key Features of these Rotary Vane Attenuators

  • 3% accuracy (0-40dB)
  • 5% accuracy (41-50dB)
  • Attenuation Range: 0 dB to 50 dB
  • Direct reading
  • 49.9 GHz to 112 GHz
  • WG25, WG26 and WG27
