The SRO-5680 from Safran is a low noise Disciplined Rubidium Oscillator that integrates complex synchronization functionality in a low-cost, super-small package that is EMI-shielded and rugged. It utilizes Safran’s SmarTiming+® technology to provide a host of integrated GPS/GNSS disciplining and timing features. The Synchronized Rubidium Oscillator intelligently synchronizes, disciplines, and controls any primary 1PPS reference signal, such as GPS/GNSS, Cesium, Hydrogen Maser, and T1/E1, at cutting-edge 1ns resolution. It’s slim and rugged packaging and ultra-low noise features make it ideal for next gen SATCOM, airborne and other stringent military applications.

The SRO-5680 has a standard RS232 (9600 b/s) interface for control and monitoring. It has an output frequency of 10 MHz and a phase noise of -95 dBc at a 10 Hz offset (low noise, ultra-low noise, and extreme ultra-low noise variants also available). The oscillator is available in a chassis that measures 140.0 x 101.3 x 28.5 mm and is suitable for applications such as mobile & wired telecom/datacom infrastructures, military communications, SATCOM & surveillance systems, high precision instruments and time & frequency systems. It requires a DC supply voltage of 24 V.
