The TMC170 from mmTRON is an RF Mixer that operates from 20 to 80 GHz. It provides an LO power range from -3 to +3 dBm and has an integrated LO amplifier which eliminates the need for an external LO buffer. This mixer has a conversion gain of 0 dB and provides an RF-to-IF isolation of 80 dB. The balanced architecture of this mixer in LO, RF and IF ensures outstanding harmonic performance and the wide bandwidth of IF, LO and RF ports provides much flexibility in frequency planning and simplifies the design. It has a 50-ohm matched design that eliminates the need for any port matching. This mixer requires DC supplies of -3 V and +5 V and consumes less than 90 mA of current.
The TMC170 is available as a die that measures 1.6 x 1.09 x 0.075 mm and is designed for use in EW, Military, SIGINT, ELINT and space applications. Both bond pad and backside metallization are Au-based that is compatible with ribbon and wedge bonding and high conductivity epoxy die attach methods.
