The LB5918L from Ladybug Technologies is a True RMS Microwave Power Sensor that operates from 9 kHz to 18 GHz. The high sensitivity, high accuracy RF sensor is ideal for EMC applications, general-purpose average power, and scalar measurements. It is recommended for average power measurements on signals of any modulation type, including 802.11ac, GSM, CDMA 2000, CDMA (IS-95), TDMA, Multi-Tone, OFDM, CW, and QAM. This sensor has a dynamic range from -60 to 26 dBm and can handle a maximum average power of up to 400mW and 2 W peak power.

The sensor utilizes a highly accurate, thermally stabilized, two-path, RMS responding, square law diode detection scheme. It makes accurate measurements on any signal regardless of its modulation bandwidth. Once measurements are set up, a computer or power meter is not required to operate the sensor making it ideal for unattended applications. LadyBug PMA-12 Power Meter software and a high-accuracy real-time clock are also included with this sensor.

The LB5918L features SPI & I2C optional interfaces for ATE, direct control, and embedded applications. It is compatible with U2000, USBTMC, USB HID IVI foundation an industry-compatible IEEE 488.2 SCPI command set, and a variety of options, like triggering, security & analog outputs. Time-domain trace visibility is included and aids in setting markers. The sensor is useful in research & development, manufacturing & service applications, including radar, satellite, and telecommunications. It is available with a Type-N (M) RF connector.
