The TGR2050 from Aim-TTi is an RF Signal Generator that operates from 150 kHz to 2 GHz. It can generate a signal with output power from -127 to +7 dBm in 0.1 dBm increments (amplitude entry in dBm or µV/mV). The device offers  AM, FM, and Phase modulation using either an internal and external source, and has the capability of locking to an external 10 MHz source. This generator has frequency stability of ±1ppm and phase noise of -116dBc/Hz at 25kHz offset, 500 MHz carrier. It features a built-in 400 Hz to 1 kHz sine wave generator.

This signal generator has a 20 character x 4 row backlit alphanumeric LCD display and can store up to 9 complete instrument set-ups that can be recalled from the battery-backed memory. Data can be entered numerically using 0-9 keys or can be incremented/decremented using up/down keys or the rotary encoder. It can be operated using either numeric or rotary controls and can be remotely controlled via either an RS-232 interface or GPIB interface. This signal generator is available as a benchtop unit that measures 130 mm (3U) H x 212 mm (half-rack) W x 330 mm D with an optional 19-inch rack mounting kit.

It is suitable for many applications including FM radio receiver sensitivity measurements, system gain measurements, receiver tuning & alignment, oscillator substitutions, EMC/antenna/field strength measurements, and as a signal source for many other RF circuits and system development tasks.
