What is LTE Cat 19?

LTE Cat 19 (LTE Category 19) is an LTE user equipment (UE) category that defines the performance and specifications – such as data rate, power, type of modulation, bandwidth, etc. – of LTE Cat 19 UE. LTE Cat 19 UEs are based on LTE Advanced Pro technology with support for a data rate of 1600 Mbit/s on the downlink and 150 Mbit/s on the uplink. They provide higher data rates by utilizing MIMO (Multiple Input - Multiple Output) technology and Carrier Aggregation. LTE Cat 19 UEs support 2, 4, or 8 layers of spatial multiplexing and 256-QAM in downlink (DL) and 64-QAM in uplink (UL).
