The Upcoming Anritsu Tech Day to Cover 5G Automotive Test Solutions

Anritsu plans to host the Anritsu Technology Day: 5G Automotive Evolution + Test Solutions — a full day of free education and live demos, presented in-person by industry experts from Anritsu, Cetecom, dSPACE, Taoglas, AeroGT Labs, Thales/Telit, and ETS-Lindgren. The event will take place in Milpitas, California on December 8, 2022.

5G is a powerful technology that continues to evolve. As it rapidly expands into numerous Automotive applications, engineers must keep up with the latest developments and use cases. Anritsu Technology Day is intended to help engineers stay on top of the latest topics, including test challenges and solutions.

New Challenges When Integrating Antennas Within a Car
 There are new challenges when developing antennas for cars for access to mobile networks. Those are about antenna performance but also regulatory-related properties. We will talk about those trends (buried antenna systems, higher number of antennas) and the related physics (Chu Wheeler criterion) and why suppliers for car antennas do not have the same means to overcome those issues as mobile phone makers have. Finally, a discussion on solutions and what to focus on.

Full vehicle antenna pattern evaluation for ADAS deployment
 Sensor design and individual pattern verification do not assure that the overall vehicle has good connectivity with the required telematic systems. The mounting location and materials nearby the sensors play a critical role in the performance, and thus full vehicle tests for ADAS systems must be part of the evaluation process.
