The Role of the TCU is Changing - Opportunity or Challenge?
As the 5G TCU use case continues its evolution, the deployment efforts and related tests are evolving as well. This session will share an overview of the 5G TCU, the challenges posed by its adoption, and how Anritsu offers a test platform capability for the L3+ to AD functional 5G TCU test.

Presented by:

Shinji Hoshino, Director, Anritsu

Keeping up with V2XADAS, and Autonomous Driving
So where are we now with C-V2X? This session will share updates on C-V2X R16 and R17, the increasing use cases for Safety-related ADAS functions, and its impact on test needs. We'll also discuss how interference monitoring is critical for development efforts and test plans.

Presented by:

Jonathan Borrill, Head of Global Market Technology, Anritsu

Evolving Automotive BUS Communications
CAN communication has been widely used in Automotive and new use cases are creating the need for additional bus communications in vehicles. This session will present why a CAN alternative is needed, options being considered/evaluated with challenges involved, and how Anritsu is enabling these use case evaluations.

Presented by:

John James, Field Application Engineer, Anritsu

WOW! The Material Impacts the Automotive Function?
With sensors being more heavily used for ADAS and AD functionality, the impact of materials is facing heavy scrutiny. Where and why is material selection critical? In this session, we will discuss what are the impacts and how to address them in the design stages.

Presented by:

Michael Yang, Sr. Product Manager, Anritsu

12:45 pm – 1:45 pm:

Lunch

1:45 pm – 4:45 pm:

Afternoon sessions (including breaks):

Car Electronic Device Approval-Related News out of Europe
The difference between Europe and the USA for permitted use of automotive radar applications in the 79 GHz and 60 GHz range and trends. A new focus in Europe on intermodulation (multiple transmitters) and why this is more important than in the USA.

Presented by:

Dr. Peter Nevermann, Corporate Director, Consulting & Business Dev., Cetecom

HIL Testing
HIL testing continues to be a key test methodology for vehicle and ADAS development efforts. In this session, dSPACE will share a HIL test overview, its benefit and challenges, and some new directions and applications including the combined dSPACE and Anritsu solution for the 5G TCU Connectivity HILS test.

Presented by:

dSPACE

5G MIMO OTA Test
Automotive applications are seeing rising importance and key learnings from Over the Air (OTA) tests. This session will share an overview of a combined AeroGT Labs and Anritsu solution for 5G OTA MIMO testing.

Presented by:

Lily Qin, Vice President of Business Development, AeroGT Labs

New Challenges When Integrating Antennas Within a Car
There are new challenges when developing antennas for cars for access to mobile networks. Those are about antenna performance but also regulatory-related properties. We will talk about those trends (buried antenna systems, higher number of antennas) and the related physics (Chu Wheeler criterion) and why suppliers for car antennas do not have the same means to overcome those issues as mobile phone makers have. Finally, a discussion on solutions and what to focus on.

Presented by:

Dr. Peter Nevermann, Corporate Director, Consulting & Business Dev., Cetecom

Automotive Module Integration And Certification
Overview of the typical integration process of a wireless module in an automotive application, its associated HW/SW challenges, as well as some of the common issues during carrier certification.

Presented by:

Thales

Full vehicle antenna pattern evaluation for ADAS deployment
Sensor design and individual pattern verification do not assure that the overall vehicle has good connectivity with the required telematic systems. The mounting location and materials nearby the sensors play a critical role in the performance, and thus full vehicle tests for ADAS systems must be part of the evaluation process.

Presented by:

Jari Vikstedt, Director Wireless Solutions, ETS-Lindgren

LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS

Unique 5G TCU Connectivity integrated with Hardware in Loop (HIL) test scenarios

Testing PCIe® for Next-Generation Automotive Communications

Clearing RF Spectrum for V2X Connectivity

Measuring Radar Antenna Patterns with a VNA

4:45 pm:

Closing Comments and Raffle

COVID-19 Precautions:
Masks and hand sanitizer will be available for the attendees. However, masks are not required. Safety measures may be subject to change based on known circumstances at the time of this event.
