Quantic Wenzel, a leader in ultra-low phase noise crystal oscillators, is offering the Golden VHF Bootstrap Oscillator (501-35195) that is available in any fixed frequency between 80 MHz to 130 MHz. It employs Quantic Wenzel’s proprietary bootstrap oscillator technology that consists of two rugged OCXOs of the same frequency phase locked together.

The Golden VHF Bootstrap Oscillator provides ultra-low phase noise performance with a low-g sensitivity of better than 5e-11/g below 300 Hz offsets, and 5e-12/g sensitivity above 300 Hz when vibration isolation is included. By implementing special compensation techniques it minimizes vibration-induced phase noise by mechanically aligning the two oscillators and summing a compensation voltage with the electrical tuning to the oscillators.

The oscillator has a phase noise of less than -185 dBc/Hz (static with 100 kHz offset), spurious of better than -90 dBc, and harmonics of -30 dBc. It has a vibration compensation system for best noise under vibration using Bootstrap technology and uses Polyurethane conformal coating for tin whisker mitigation and moisture resistance. This oscillator features an internal voltage regulator that provides excellent power supply line rejection.

The Golden VHF bootstrap oscillator assembly is an ideal solution for the most demanding airborne, mobile, and shipboard applications that require greatly improved dynamic phase noise under vibration. The oscillator with vibration isolation, is housed in a 5.86” x 3.7” x 1.18” machined case and has an operating temperature range from -40 to +85°C.
