The RC7120 from Sierra Wireless is an IoT Module that is optimized for 4G LTE Cat-1 bis applications. This fully integrated solution combines power efficiency with device-to-cloud security, making it fully optimized for cost-conscious IoT devices. It supports Dual SIM single standby (DSSS) for switching between networks quickly to stay connected. This module is based on Semtech’s CF3 (Common Flexible Form Factor) design, which enables migration between technologies, global expansion, and future-proof product platforms. It has a Secure Boot feature that prevents unauthorized code on the target to keep connectivity secure. This module is designed for operation in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.
The RC7120 delivers a downlink data rate of 10 Mbps and an uplink data rate of 5 Mbps on existing 4G LTE cellular networks. It is available in an LGA package that measures 22.0 x 23.0 x 2.5 mm and can be controlled via UART, USB, ADC and GPIO interfaces.
