The AWMF-0109 from Anokiwave is a 27.5 to 30 GHz Silicon Quad-Core Beamforming IC intended for Transmit Ka-Band SATCOM planar phased array antenna applications. The highly integrated device supports four dual-polarization radiating elements with full programmable polarization flexibility. It provides 22 dB of gain per channel with an output power of 12 dBm per element per polarization. Operating from a single supply of 1.8V, the RFIC has an amplitude dynamic range of 15.5 dB. It provides 5-bit phase control (LSB=11.25°) and 5-bit gain control (LSB = 0.5dB).

This beamforming IC features gain compensation over temperature, temperature reporting, Tx output power telemetry, and ESD protection on all pins. It is available in a 48-lead 6 x 6 mm QFN package for easy installation in planar phased array antennas and is suitable for satellite communication terminal applications.
