The PRS4601 from Peraso is a Baseband IC that is compliant with 802.11ad (PHY and MAC). It delivers a data rate of up to 4.62 Gb/s and supports variable rate LDPC FEC. This baseband IC supports single carrier MCS0 to MCS12 (16-QAM) and has full support for beamforming and beam tracking. It has two integrated RISC CPUs and an on-chip memory for all packet buffering, control and management functions. This baseband IC supports contention-based and scheduled access with a highly programmable scheduler and has full support for A-MSDU, A-MPDU and Reverse Direction. It supports two connected radios and 32 clients. This baseband IC can be controlled via USB 2.0/3.0 (5 Gb/s) and GPIO interfaces. It is available in a BGA package that measures 7 x 7 mm and is ideal for consumer electronics, enterprise network applications or outdoor applications such as Fixed Wireless Access.
