L3Harris Technologies has developed the RF-7800W-AA001 Closed Loop Antenna Alignment System (CLAAS), a rugged antenna positioning solution designed for use with the Falcon III® RF-7800W Multimission High Capacity Line-of-Sight (HCLOS) Radio. The system is developed to simplify in-field line-of-sight (LOS) communications by enabling rapid and accurate antenna alignment for tactical and mission-critical wireless networks. This makes it ideal for military and tactical communication systems that require rapid deployment, reliable line-of-sight connectivity, and simplified antenna alignment in challenging field conditions.

The RF-7800W-AA001 system is interoperable with five RF-7800W series antennas and features a tool-free assembly that allows quick installation in the field. By utilizing real-time signal strength information from the connected radio, the system assists operators in accurately aligning antennas, significantly reducing setup time for both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint deployments. It can be used with both fixed and portable mast installations, making it suitable for a variety of operational scenarios.

The system also supports remote operation through a web-based graphical user interface or command-line interface, allowing users to monitor and control antenna alignment without direct physical access. It provides an azimuth range of ±180° and an elevation range of ±20°, with antenna alignment completed in less than one minute for ±90° azimuth adjustments. Designed for demanding environments, the unit is housed in an IP66-rated enclosure and supports operation from either 90–265 VAC or 10.5–34.5 VDC power sources.

The RF-7800W-AA001 antenna alignment system is available in an IP66-rated enclosure that measures 9.12 x 9.37 x 5.24 inches and is supplied with a 30 meter power/control and DC power cable.
