The BLACKTALON 981 from TCI International is a Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) that operates from 20 MHz to 8.5 GHz, covering ISM, GNSS, and Wi-Fi bands. It is designed to provide passive RF detection, location, identification, tracking, and inhibition in combat operations typically occurring in hostile territories and harsh environments. This system incorporates software-defined radios, a multi-channel RF inhibitor, RF sensors, and antennas. It uses 9-element direction-finding (DF) antennas to detect signals via a dual-channel correlative interferometry technique. This C-UAS system delivers up to 40 W of output power and has a DF accuracy of 2° to 5°.
The BLACKTALON 981 system uses multiple sensors to perform geolocation of the target using several techniques such as AOA, TDOA, and hybrid AOA/TDOA, enabling precise location estimation. This C-UAS system automates operations and provides intuitive defeat capabilities. It supports multiple deployment options - fixed, portable, mobile, and man-portable, thereby providing flexibility.
