The DF-A0088 from Alaris Antennas is a Direction Finding (DF) Antenna operating in multiple bands from 1 to 90 MHz (Band A), 30 to 1000 MHz (Band B), 1000 to 3600 MHz (Band C), and 3000 to 6000 MHz (Band D). This DF antenna is based on a redesigned loop design and uses correlative interferometer technique to perform monitoring with embedded whip, pentagonal dipole array, and biconical antennas. The loop design provides high DF performance at low frequencies where the phase size of the array is small, which is typical in broadband DF systems. This vertically-polarized antenna has a DF accuracy of 3° and an elevation coverage of -15° to +15°.
The DF-A0088 also has a decagonal cylindrical cavity, which allows switching, amplification, and RF processing to be integrated into the antenna for reduced cable loss. The cavity can be slid open to provide access to the RF unit. This antenna is available in a radome enclosure measuring 2000 x 1100 mm and is ideal for marine DF and wideband monitoring applications.
