The AMP40049 from Exodus Advanced Communications is a Solid-State Power Amplifier (SSPA) that operates from 40 to 50 GHz. It is designed for broadband V-band CW & pulse applications such as EMI/RFI, laboratory, and IEC testing. This Class A/AB amplifier delivers a saturated output power of 20 W with a power gain of more than 45 dB and a gain flatness of 5 dBp-p. It has a 2-tone intermodulation distortion of -30 dBc, spurious levels better than -60 dBc, and harmonics of -20 dBc. This PA has an input/output return loss of 10 dB.
The AMP40049 includes a local LCD interface and built-in protection circuitry. It can be controlled locally or remotely via Ethernet RJ-45, RS-422/RS-485, USB, and optional GPIB interfaces. This amplifier requires a 120/208 V AC supply and consumes less than 5 kW. It is available in a 10U rack-mount enclosure measuring 421 × 442 × 800 mm (excluding handles) and has a 2.4 mm connector at the RF input connector and a WR-22 waveguide interface at the output.
