The R&S QPS201 from Rohde & Schwarz is a Quick Personnel Security Scanner that operates from 70 to 80 GHz (mmWave band). It is a state-of-the-art scanner solution that is used for security checks at airports for property protection, security at public events, and access control at security-related facilities. This scanner automatically detects potentially hazardous items carried on the body or clothing, such as metal, ceramic, plastic, liquids, and organic materials, with high precision, while maintaining an unobtrusive and hassle-free process. It consists of flat panels with several transmit and receive antennas that rapidly emit very low-power millimeter waves and record high-resolution 3D information. This security scanner delivers an output power of 1 mW and has a data acquisition time of 32 ms (per panel).
The R&S QPS201 not only scans the full body by illuminating all the areas of the head, shoulder, and leg but also protects the privacy of the scanned person. This scanner poses no health risks and operates with power levels that are orders of magnitude lower than those of mobile phones. It has an intuitive touchscreen that enables users to control critical scanning parameters. This scanner can be integrated with local networks using the R&S QPS Server to support data acquisition, status overview, analysis, and user administration. The scanner has light indications & trigger alarms as options to facilitate scanning. It measures 1750 x 2320 x 1433 mm.
