The NW-5500-CNG from NoiseWave is a Noise Generator that operates from 5 to 6 GHz and is designed for IEEE 802.11a WLAN applications. It provides an adjustable noise output level from -55 dBm to +5 dBm with flatness of ±0.5 dB over a bandwidth greater than 200 MHz. This 50-ohm generator has a noise level resolution of 0.1 dB and an attenuation range of 60 dB in 0.1 dB steps. It supports C/N, C/N0, Eb/N0, C/I, noise generation, and power meter operating modes, and can be controlled via GPIB (IEEE-488.2) and Ethernet interfaces. This generator supports input power up to 22 dBm.

The NW-5500-CNG requires an AC supply from 85 to 264 V and draws less than 2 A of current. It is housed in a rack-mount enclosure measuring 17 × 5.25 × 20 inches and has an N-type (female) connector.
