The ROVER 6S from L3Harris Technologies is an RF Transceiver that operates from 14.4-14.83/15.15-15.35 GHz (Ku-Band), 4.4-4.95/5.25-5.85 GHz (C-Band), 2.025-2.11/2.2-2.5 GHz (S-Band), 1.625-1.85 GHz (L-Band), and 225-512 MHz (UHF-Band). It is an upgrade to the ROVER 6 transceiver, offering expanded frequencies, additional processing, and enhanced data security. This transceiver transforms sensor-to-shooter networking, allowing increased levels of collaboration and interoperability with several manned/unmanned aerial platforms. It consists of a transmit channel and two receiver channels that provide frequency diversity for link redundancy and robust reception. This transceiver delivers a data rate from 1.5 to 4.5 Mbps (DDL), 3.75 to 21.11 Mbps (DVB-T receive), and 200 Kbps to 45 Mbps (CDL).
The ROVER 6S supports a wide range of new digital processing techniques along with updated waveforms for video – H.265 HD, H.261, H.264, MPEG-2/4, and MJPEG. The transceiver also supports high-definition video encoding and signal & waveform search. It is equipped with a cryptographic core modernization and AES schemes to secure digital data streams from cyber-attacks. This RF transceiver can be controlled using a web-based GUI via Ethernet, RS-232, BNC HD-SDI, Tx/Rx control, and Net-T interfaces. It can be powered with a dual-output battery eliminator or a BA-5590 battery-compatible supply. This transceiver is available in an enclosure that measures 6.75 x 4.30 x 17.61 inches. It is ideal for vehicle-mounted, airborne, maritime, and manpack communications, as well as tactical operations.
