The LMS-802 from Vaunix is a USB Programmable RF Signal Generator that operates from 4 to 8 GHz. It is a low-cost, handheld, lab-quality signal generator designed for applications requiring fast, autonomous signal generation in a compact package. This signal generator delivers a typical output power of 10 dBm with a resolution of 0.5 dB and has a switching time of 100 µs. It has a phase noise of -81 dBc/Hz (@10 kHz offset) with spurious levels of better than -70 dBc and sub-harmonics of -60 dBm.
The LMS-802 can be interfaced with a GUI and is controlled and powered using a USB interface. It is supplied with Vaunix’s LabVIEW drivers, Windows API DLL files, Linux drivers, Python examples, and other software solutions for users who wish to develop their interface. This programmable signal generator requires a DC supply of +5 V and consumes 550 mA of current. It is available as a module measuring 4.90 x 3.14 x 1.59 inches and featuring SMA (female) connectors for RF ports and BNC (female) connectors for trigger/reference ports.
The LMS-802 is ideal for portable LO sources, engineering/production test labs, low-cost test equipment for radar receiver systems, and automated test equipment (ATE) applications.
