The HF-9500M from Collins Aerospace is an Airborne Radio System that operates from 3 to 48 kHz. It is designed to provide secure long-range voice and data communications for military, government, and aerospace platforms. This radio system integrates a wideband HF modem that supports data transmission up to 48 kHz in compliance with MIL-STD-188-110D. It also includes an antenna coupler LRU that supports wire, shunt, and probe antennas, a radio control LRU for alternative system operation, and dedicated mounting LRUs for aircraft integration. The system uses a 39-tone suite and MELPe digital voice waveforms, with support for 2G, 3G, and 4G ALE, FLSU, and SELCAL calling functionality.
The HF-9500M system supports simultaneous operations (SIMOP) filtering, advanced anti-jamming techniques with frequency hopping, and AES-256 encryption for secure voice and data communications. It is compliant with MIL-STD-188-141D, MIL-STD-188-110D, and STANAG 4415, 4529, and 4538 standards, and supports ARINC 635-compliant HF Data Link (HFDL) communications. This radio system incorporates Ethernet and MIL-STD-1553-compliant control interfaces, along with VITA 49.2 support for data transport. It also features a software-upgradable architecture that enables future capability enhancements and evolving mission requirements. This radio system is available in a rugged enclosure that offers robust protection in demanding RF environments.
