The ADRF5060 from Analog Devices is a Bidirectional Non-Reflective SP3T RF Switch that operates from 100 MHz to 20 GHz. It has an isolation of up to 50 dB and an insertion loss of less than 1.3 dB. This switch with bypass can handle an RF input power of 33 dBm (external paths), 18 dBm (terminated path) and 30 dBm (hot switching) with a return loss of less than 20 dB. It is manufactured in a silicon on insulator (SOI) process and employs complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS)-/low-voltage, transistor-to-transistor logic (LVTTL) logic-compatible controls.
The ADRF5060 requires a dual-supply DC supply of +3.3 V and -3.3 V and consumes less than 500 μA of current. This bi-directional switch can also operate with a single positive supply voltage (VDD) pin applied while the negative supply pin (VSS) is tied to ground. In this operating condition, the small signal performance is maintained while the switching characteristics, linearity, and power handling performance are derated. It is available in an LGA package that measures 4 x 3 mm. This SP3T switch is ideal for test instrumentation, military radios, radars, electronic counter measures (ECMs), microwave radios, and very small aperture terminals (VSATs) applications.
