The UC26-35 from Maury Microwave is a Universal VNA Calibration Module (uCal) that operates from 50 MHz to 26.5 GHz. It is designed to simplify and expedite the calibration process of a vector network analyzer (VNA) by automating the use of calibration standards, reducing human error, and providing accurate results. This uCal consists of electronic switches, an on-board memory, a transmission line, and interfaces. The switches allow selection and connection of appropriate calibration standards to the VNA, enabling rapid transitions and reducing errors due to improper torque or connector wear. This module has a source match of 38 dB and a tracking error of 0.08 dB.
The UC26-35’s calibration process is controlled through Maury’s Insight automation software, which is compatible with most VNA models. This automation feature greatly simplifies the calibration process, making it more accessible. The transmission line integrated into this module functions like a verification device, comparing measured results from the process with known reference data. This allows users to identify setup issues and confirm calibration accuracy. This module can connect to the VNA via a USB interface, enabling transfer of calibration coefficients. The uCal is available in a module that measures 3.161 x 1.476 x 0.995 inches and has 3.5 mm connectors.
