The RA9460 from Renesas is a Wireless Power Transmitter Analog Front End IC. It supports more than 15 W of power delivery to a WPC 1.3 compliant Qi Power Receiver (PRx) and can deliver more than 60 W of power with proprietary high-speed charging solutions. The IC supports Qi-compliant bi-directional communication with FSK modulation and ASK demodulation. It integrates two half-bridge MOSFET drivers and ZVS optimizing MOSFET drivers for low EMI operation. The Front-End IC has a precision input current sensing amplifier and integrated Q-FOD circuitry for improved Foreign Object Detection. It has advanced wireless power circuitry such as wide input voltage range operation, high voltage coil MUX control, a phase demodulation signal generator, and auto zeroing input current monitoring.

The RA9460 can be controlled via I2C and GPIO interfaces and DP/DM for USB BCS 1.2+ via proprietary extensions. This IC is available in a 32-VFQFPN package that measures 4 x 4 mm and is ideal for WPC-compliant wireless charging base stations, charging mats or pads, docking cradles, generic consumer electronics, custom/proprietary wireless charging base stations, drone/automation equipment, and hermetical sealed equipment & tools applications.
