The nRF54LS05A from Nordic Semiconductor is a Multi-Protocol Wireless System-on-Chip (SoC) that operates in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. It is designed for compact, cost-optimised IoT devices such as sensors, tags, beacons, remotes, and PC peripherals. This SoC integrates a 128 MHz ARM Cortex-M33 processor and a RISC-V co-processor, along with 0.5 MB NVM, 64 kB RAM, a 2.4 GHz radio, an Axon NPU AI accelerator, a security module, power management, and multiple interfaces. It supports Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), IEEE 802.15.4, and proprietary 2.4 GHz protocols, and delivers a data rate of up to 4 Mbps. The SoC provides a transmit output power of +4 dBm and a receiver sensitivity of -96 dBm.
The nRF54LS05A includes a baseline security architecture designed to support regulatory compliance requirements. It is also supported by an SDK that includes a bare-metal option to simplify migration from nRF52 Series SoCs. It can be controlled remotely using multiple interfaces, including SPI, UART, GPIO, and Global RTC. This wireless SoC requires a DC supply of 3 V and consumes 4.8 mA (Tx) & 3.4 mA (Rx) current. It is available in a QFN48 package and ideal for low-latency IoT applications.
